We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at nick@rodoc.com.

Open and close your hopper doors at the touch of a button while you stay back, out of the dust. The Shur-Co ProTrap® electric hopper door opener is the perfect partner for a Shur-Co 4500 Series HD electric tarp system, and it works just as well on its own, with no electric tarp system at all.
The all-metal gears and housing are built to handle hard stops. A high-efficiency planetary gear reduction and a breaker circuit at the battery protect the motor, and there are no limit switches to get damaged in the field or on rough roads. The ProTrap comes preassembled for a faster install, and every kit ships with the ShurLink EZR™ wireless remote.
Complete kit for a two-hopper trailer
Each kit is built for the standard two-hopper grain trailer and includes the motor and setup for each hopper door. It's set up for the driver's side.
Works with or without an electric tarp
- With a Shur-Co 4500 Series HD electric tarp: the best 1-2 punch in trailer automation. Run your tarp and your hopper doors from the same ShurLink™ system, with one master disconnect switch that kills power to both.
- Without an electric tarp: install the ProTrap by itself and upgrade your hopper doors today. You can add an electric tarp system later.
Which option do I choose?
The only difference between the three options is your hopper door style, which determines the motor you need. Look at how your doors open, then pick the match:
- Strap Trap: for trailers with strap-style hopper traps. Includes the HD 150 low-torque motor assemblies.
- Rack & Pinion: for trailers with rack-and-pinion hopper traps. Includes the HD 250 low-torque motor assemblies.
- XL Rack & Pinion (Timpte Commodity Doors, 60" Long): for very large hopper doors, such as Timpte commodity doors that are 60" long. Includes the HD 350 motor assemblies.
Each motor is sized to protect your trailer components, so choosing the right one matters. The load on the hopper must not exceed the torque needed in manual operation. Actual torque varies with wire size, wire length and battery voltage. Not sure which one you need, or have a trailer that isn't a standard two-hopper, driver-side setup? Built for heavy-duty hauling
The ProTrap is rated for farm-to-market and commercial or co-op use. Shur-Co rates it for commodity grain (corn, wheat, soybeans, rice), high-density materials such as river rock, fractured rock, fertilizer, compacted fly ash and concrete construction waste, heaped loads from light to heavy, and oversized hopper doors over 1,200 sq in.
